Sights from Lake Union

Starting at the top left, that one was just for fun. I could only get the top of it. It is a pink tow truck. LoL. Top right, that is not just any house, that is the house that they filmed Sleepless in Seattle in. Cool huh? By the way, the pictures on the water were taken while we were on Lake Union. The next one is of one of the many sea planes on the lake. The next is a photo of the Space Needle. Then we have, just passed the lady's head, a photo of Gas Works Park. This is a 19.1 acre public park. It used to be a coal gasification plant which powered much of Seattle, from 1906 to 1956. What you see in the picture is pretty rusty looking but they actually did save part of it and restored it. It is now a play area for the kids. We were told by our tour guide that trees will not grow in the park because there is still so much coal left in the soil. So any trees that you see are around the outside of it and they are in big pots of fresh soil. They say it's a great place to fly kites. The next photo is just a shot of the Seattle skyline. Then for all you Longhorn fans out there a photo of the Longhorn Outpost, downtown Seattle.
